Synopsis: A book all females should be required to read, this small jewel is packed with insights to really turn sexual potential into practice.

Our Review: As I came to appreciate the wonders of masturbation quite late (and only with Freddy's persistent urgings), I definitely needed some coaching to truly understand exactly WHY self pleasure is so important. I had always thought of masturbation as something only men practiced and unfortunately the subject never came up with my rather conservative mother or even among my friends over the years.

Luckily, there are several books, websites, and videos devoted to the subject, so I had Freddy do some research and pick out a resource we could both use to tap my hidden potential and get me over the hump, so to speak. The book, For Yourself - The Fulfillment of Female Sexuality, by Lonnie Barbach, Ph.D, turned out to be just the guide we were looking for and was recommended highly by reviewers at both Amazon and Barnes and Noble. Just a smidgeon over 200 pages, the author packs quite a bit of information into topics such as why one should learn to masturbate, the actual physical process, sexual expansion, menopause, and even how to raise children to be aware and responsible about their own sexuality. Freddy found the book very enlightening and has read it twice, especially the section on sharing intimacy.

Though one could easily churn through the entire text in a short evening (as I did), you will probably find yourself (or yourselves) returning to read particular sections again and again, as Barbach outlines practical solutions with great advice and depth. An indispensable tool in one's sexual arsenal, this little nugget belongs in every woman's desk drawer. Incidentally, the author has produced a sequel we highly recommend as well, called For Each Other - Sharing Sexual Intimacy.
