Synopsis: A
double-ended glass dildo, suitable for both anal and vaginal penetration.
Our Review: In
the last few years of our adventures in sex toys, only a few
frontiers remain. Strap-on sex, while intriguing, probably isn't
going to happen due to too many hang-ups on Freddy's part, and the
BDSM realms are still inhibited by several factors, most notably
our discomfort with assuming the dominant roles required for such
excursions. With vibes, we've buzzed and penetrated each other
like pin cushions, so our review choices are guided more these
days by curiosity than functionality.
And yet, every
now and again we still manage an accidental surprise that makes us
slap high-fives and go off to bed congratulating ourselves. Such
is the life of sex toy reviewers - several nights (if not weeks)
of disappointment broken by occasional moments of actual product
satisfaction. Add to this the even rarer episodes of exceeding
boundaries and we sometimes wonder if we'll have any content at
all with which to add to our website.
Which brings us
to the product and boundary in question; which is to say the
Crystal Twister and Eddy's reluctance to "go big" when it comes to
glass dildos. Indeed, if you scan our reviews of most dildos of
any material, you'll start to notice they lean toward the medium
to smaller sizes, due to Eddy's discomfort when anything over
3/4-1" is inserted into her nether regions. Her favorite glass
dildo, the Triton Gold
Twist, for example, actually has a shaft under 3/4" and only
exceeds that measurement when one counts the raised twist running
its length. When, in early April, a package showed up from our
friends at Xhale Glass Toys containing the humongous piece that is
the subject of this review, we quickly dismissed it as too large
and stuck it in one of our toy drawers to be divvied out to some
lucky couple (like Ang and Ranger) who could review it for us.
In terms of
specifics, the Crystal Twister is actually two pieces fused
together to form one larger dildo, the larger end mainly for
penetration, the smaller (and tapered) side shaped like many anal
plugs on the market. The smaller end can also be used as a
convenient handle, which makes sense given the slippery nature of
glass once lube is applied. The diameter is approximately 1.25" at
its largest point, with the smaller end topping out at 1". No
matter how we examined it, the Twister was too large for
consideration.
One night,
however, after a particularly long and relaxing Freddy massage,
Eddy requested the Twister for a bit of foreplay, reasoning that
the smaller end might feel decent enough, so being one to comply
with ANY wish involving sexual fun, Freddy pulled the Twister from
its resting place and the fun began.
True to
expectations, the smaller end of the Twister provided a great
amount of pleasure and Eddy quickly brought herself to orgasm.
What was a shock was what came next; Eddy requested that Freddy
begin to insert the larger end, which Freddy expected would
come to a halt within seconds. Slowly, the toy began its journey
into Eddy and... kept going... and going... and going... ALL the
way in! To Freddy's amazement, Eddy not only took the thickness of
the Twister, but the entire length as well (and without lube, we
might add). With the dildo fully inserted, we both placed our
hands on the smaller end, using it as a handle and maneuvered it
in and out until Eddy blasted into orgasmic bliss. We would've
been content to end the evening on that high note, but luckily for
Freddy, his lovely wife had her "second wind" and she hungrily
pulled him into her frenzy.
And though, as of
this writing, the Twister has only made one other appearance, it
will always reserve a special place in our hearts for its
surprising versatility and its role in helping us reach yet
another milestone in our sensual journeys.
