Magnifique Vibrator
Reviewed by Irene Adler

The Magnifique is definitely something all girls should try. It's perfect for external stimulation: the curves on the shell matches the curves on my body very nicely, and the 3 different levels of vibration were just right for me -- not too intense, not too whimpy (though I've read some reviews where women said the vibrations weren't strong enough for them, so I guess maybe I'm just more sensitive). Done correctly, I could climax using just the lowest setting, though it does take a bit of finesse; but the highest setting is pure bliss almost any way you use it. However, it's definitely not strong enough to be used as a regular massager (i.e. for innocent purposes on not-so-sensitive, not-so-naughty areas). One drawback is, it might not work well as an internal stimulator for small-framed women, since it's quite thick. Also, it is constructed from two pieces of plastic, with the seam running around the sides of the vibrator -- it's a bit difficult for me to describe, but if you look at a picture, you'd understand -- so the insertable end is not one smooth piece of plastic, so it's a good idea to apply lube generously before using it internally to avoid tears in vaginal tissue. As for noise-level, it was pretty quiet, though definitely not silent (you can't hear much of anything if you use it under a medium/light-ish comforter). As for the shape, I think it is very well-designed, and tastefully discreet (a thousand times more so than those phallic- or cylindrical-shaped vibrators, though not as inconspicuous as those vibes disguised as lipsticks and pens), but my boyfriend disagrees: he says it's obvious that it's a vibrator, and nobody's clueless enough to mistake it for anything else (boo him). Anyway, the bottom line is, this is a great toy, almost addictive, and every girl should own one (I found it on sale at the Sinclair Institute website, www.bettersex.com, for $14.95 + S&H, so it's a good deal, too).
