Synopsis: Hard to say; this site is part blog, part op-ed, and a
hodgepodge of other bits that somehow form something that makes total sense.
Our Review:
Visiting this site, run by a self proclaimed "theoretical bisexual
or technical heterosexual," can only be described as strikingly
similar to meeting someone at a party who mesmerizes you and
commands your attention, even if you can't figure out exactly WHY.
And, while anyone
who follows David Sedaris (in print or in his many appearances on
NPR) usually
finds time for Judy Garland and Barbara Streisand, we'll give Mr.
Imp (or is it simply "Lippy?") the benefit of the doubt and accept
his somewhat vague sexuality preferences (after all, Sedaris IS
one of the best things to ever happen to Ira Glass). Lippy's faq
sheet provides no evidence or clues to exactly WHO he is, other
than a witty and hilarious writer with a penchant for on-the-mark
self-deprecating humor.
In short, you'll
find a fantastic (though containing long stretches of absence)
blog, links and original essays, a few picture galleries, and some
odds and ends that, against all logic and common sense, work to
make an experience you shouldn't miss.
