Guide to Getting It On - $19.95

I have reccommended "The Guide to Getting It On" to more people in the past 7 years of teaching sex ed than anything else.

Why? Because in it's 3 pounds, almost 800 pages, it's got a little bit of everything... which means you can buy it "to learn about hair removal, really!" than run home and read the chapter on anal sex. It's light-hearted and fun, but full of facts and illustrations that I'd always wished were in one place. I can't reccomend it more.

If my words aren't enough... here's some from sex educator, writer, editor, and all around cool woman Violet Blue that sum up my thoughts nicely:

It’s finally here! What I, and pretty much every sex educator I know, have long thought is the best all-around sex guide in the world has finally released a fully–and I mean fully–updated version. The Guide to Getting It On! is really now the most comprehensive sex guide in the world, and as a sex guide writer, I’m saying a lot.

Joannides and his team of researchers present a (huge) book that covers it all, in a very hilarious tone that delivers oodles of info yet remains expressly respectful to the reader at all times. This is an all-inclusive (yet heterosexually focused), sex-positive, non-judgmental tome.

First off, it has the very best sexual anatomy illustrations I’ve ever seen–and I don’t mean drawings that look like cadaver cutlets, I mean clear, bold illustrations that show anatomy for pleasure (as opposed to reproduction) like no other book in print. And trust me, learning pleasure anatomy is the key to giving and getting it good.

Anatomy, sex toys, porn, positions, oral sex, anal sex, sex and disability, romance, hair removal, bugs, STD’s, Barbie, birth control, prostate, g-spot, straight, gay, bi, masculine, feminine, parents talking to teens about sex... phew, and I’m only skimming the surface. Good luck finding a topic *not* in this fabulous book. Make this one the centerpiece of your library, and augment with topic-specific books (many are recommended within the text).
