Where to go ?

So often in my travel career I hear the same question repeated again and again.  Where should we go?  Ask 100 people and you’ll probably get 75 different answers.

I believe that we all have our top 5 to 10 vacations that we would like to take.  Some of these may be exotic life long dreams that may or may not come true.  Others are more realistic and these we can put them in order of preference.  By taking a look at your top five we can get a sense of what should be your next trip.

Lets take a look at this scenario.  In your top 5 are Cancun, Colorado, New York, Paris and Hawaii.  The next question is when do you want to go? For arguments sake lets

pretend you want to go in February.  Right away I’d knock out Paris and New York because although both of those you can go to anytime they really are a lot more enjoyable when the weather is nice.

We’ve now narrowed it down to Cancun, Hawaii and Colorado.  Next question, skiing or beach?   Knock out skiing and we’re down to Cancun or Hawaii.  By comparing the values and prices this year to both destinations we can make a decision based on where you will get the most for our money.  This year Cancun would definitely be the better value.

Hawaii stays in your top 5 and this year you choose to go to Cancun. 

Prices and values change every few months.  If you can save hundreds of dollars by going to Cancun this year, you’ll have that much more to be able to do two trips next year.
