Synopsis: The latest in our favorite series, this one adds Jesse
Jane to the great combo of Tera Patrick and Devon.
Our Review: With
the first Island Fever films, Digital Playground decidedly upped
the ante for porn by taking its most attractive talent to some of
Hawaii's most scenic locations. Here the sparks flew and out came
two of the best couples-centric titles to ever grace our DVD
player. Both of them remain staples of our adult viewing fare,
especially during periods where it seems every title we pop onto
our screen for reviewing turns out to be utter crap.
Of course, with
the bar set so high, we approached this third installment with
extremely high expectations. It didn't disappoint. In fact, in
many ways, it exceeds almost ALL adult titles for the simple
reason it's one of the first DVD releases of any kind we've seen
filmed in high definition. Yes, you read correctly, the production
comes with a second disk filmed in 16:9 anamorphic
widescreen high definition that is so breathtaking you'll be
booking trips to Tahiti and Bora Bora before you reach the ending
credits. The colors and sharpness must be seen to be believed
(though you must have an HD-ready television or very powerful
computer to take advantage of this feature) and the audio is Dolby
5.1 for great sound. It's almost disconcerting to see something so
lifelike on a television, especially bodies writhing around doing
the nasty; but we're lucky enough to own a wall-mounted plasma
screen, so it was almost like being in the islands with the
performers.
Filming in Tahiti
and Bora Bora is another of the inspired decisions that went into
making this title, with locations that almost overwhelm the
participants in every scene. You can tell they are thrilled to be
there and they give it their all in every scene. Jesse Jane and
Devon, two of our favorite surgically created Barbie Dolls, frolic
around on deserted beaches, under waterfalls, in the mud, and
under the sea, while Tera Patrick makes an appearance in some
footage obviously shot before her departure from Digital
Playground in late 2002. Though tacked on and out of place, it's
always nice to see the voluptuous Tera, nevertheless.
The movie begins
in Bora Bora with Devon and Jesse Jane getting together on the
beach, which is the first time they've ever shot a scene together.
It's a nice one and fans of girl/girl will be very happy with the
results. Next, Devon joins Evan Stone on a hill overlooking the
ocean for a very nice pairing (even if Mr. Stone isn't one of
Eddy's favorites). The film then switches to the Tera Patrick
footage, where she begins with masturbation and is then joined by
Barrett Blade for a HOT interlude in the desert. We then go back
to the South Pacific, where Jesse Jane and Eric Masterson add more
heat to the Tahitian climate with a sexy frolic, followed by Mr.
Masterson taking on Devon for a prelude to the climactic scene
where they pair up yet again. The spectacle ends with Jesse Jane
and Evan Stone going at it under a waterfall, which is preceded by
an interesting solo scene of Jesse Jane covered with mud. Using
footage played in reverse, the mud looks like it is shooting off
Jesse and up into her hands, making for one of the more unique
adult scenes we've come across.
In conclusion,
this is yet another winner from Digital Playground that will
provide plenty of great heat to most couples. There are no anal or
otherwise objectionable scenes (unless you object to filmed sex in
general, which would have us wondering why you're reading this
review in the first place) and the high definition video feature
is one that makes it a "must have." There is a very
entertaining 25 minute behind-the-scenes feature, as well as a
commentary with all the participants (Evan Stone being the
funniest of the lot).
